This September I was invited to deliver a talk about writing, creative production and my work as co-director of Wind&Bones at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), in Tainan.

The talk took place at the Institute of Creative Industries Design and I was delighted to be invited by Dr. Ming Turner.

During the talk to MA students I talked about my cross-cultural work in storytelling and social change and as a part of the session, Wind&Bones co-director Will Buckingham and I also delivered a practical writing workshop.

We introduced students to some of our projects and methods, and talked about how we work in multiple languages, often working with non-professional writers to bring into focus their best stories. We also had time to explore questions about translation, how to make a living as a writer, research in creative writing, and how to manage the transition from creative practice to academic writing, and back again.

It was great to connect with so many socially engaged, thoughtful and reflective writers and scholars.

Thank you to Ming Turner for the invitation and to department assistant and MA student CJ for the featured poster he designed to advertise the talk.
