Here in Tainan I have just started a bi-weekly Creative Café for Writers, in collaboration with the Wansha Performing Arts Centre. I design, produce and co-deliver the writing café alongside fellow Wind&Bones co-director Dr Will Buckingham.

The writing café is a chance to connect with fellow writers, to drink tea, to chat and to write, all in a relaxed, easy-going environment.

You don’t need to be an expert or seasoned writer to come along, just someone with an interest in writing in any form! The first session was fully booked and lots of fun. It was a lovely mix of Taiwanese and fellow immigrants from around the world, chatting, writing and sharing stories.

There are six initial sessions planned but due to popularity I imagine a second series will follow!

The sessions are free for anyone who wants to attend and delivered in English with some translation into Mandarin. Writers and storytellers are free to write in any language they like.

Find out more (English / Mandarin) on the Wansha Performing Arts Centre’s featured Facebook post. And if you are in town, do come along!
