I’m delighted to be back at Parami University as Visiting Faculty from January 2024 where I’ll be leading a workshop series on non-fiction writing called ‘True Stories Go Global.’
I've worked with Parami University since its early inception and was writer in residence there in 2017-2018 whilst living in Yangon, Myanmar.
True Stories Go Global will allow learners to explore and experience non-fiction writing in multiple forms. We all have stories to tell, and these stories enable us to connect with others around the globe. This course will introduce learners to the diversity of non-fiction and allow them to experiment in writing across multiple forms. It will enable them to harvest stories from their own experiences and to find their voices as storytellers.
Parami University is committed to educating underserved students in developing countries to become effective change agents and contributing members of the global community.
Parami accomplishes this by nurturing critical thinking, inspired leadership, and compassionate service through globally competitive liberal arts and sciences education.
Since the military coup, in-person teaching has become difficult so Parami offers an array of undergraduate and adult education courses through online learning methods. The university is registered in Washington State, US.
